Candle Care
We want to make sure you make the most out of your purchased products. We’ve provided some tips below on how to care for your candle and wax melts so you can enjoy your products safely.
Safety First
Never leave a burning candle unattended, and always place candles in sturdy, heat-resistant holders. This minimises the risk of accidents and ensures a secure environment, especially in households with children or pets.
Your First Burn
Allow your Ayeka candle to burn for a few hours the first time you light it. This helps create an even pool of wax and prevents "tunnelling," where only the centre of the candle melts.
Burn Time
It's important to be mindful of the duration for which you burn your candles. Avoid burning your Ayeka candle for more than 4 hours at a time to avoid excessive soot. By adhering to recommended burn times, you not only ensure a cleaner burn but also extend the overall life of your candle.
Trim Your Wick
Regularly trimming the wick of your candle to approximately 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) before each use. A trimmed wick helps prevent smoking and soot formation, ensuring a cleaner and safer burn. It also contributes to an even and controlled flame, promoting the longevity of your candle.
Storing Your Candle
Store your Ayeka candles in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight to preserve their colour and fragrance. Sunlight exposure over time can cause fading and alter the scent, impacting the overall aesthetic and sensory experience of the candle.
Avoid Drafts
Drafts can disrupt the steady burn of a candle. Uneven air currents can cause the flame to flicker excessively, leading to uneven melting and potential dripping. By keeping candles away from drafts, whether from open windows or air vents, you ensure a more controlled and consistent burning experience.
